    29th March 1509 John Kinross entered into a bond of contract with Lord Elphinston for the fulfilment of marriage between his son James and Lady Jean Elphinston.  However Isabella Callander supplanted Lady Jean and history does not relate if John Kinross forfeited the Mill of Kippenross pledged in the bond.
